This has been done you might want to search for the other threads if you want more input.

Probably not.
After the new UI got boring WinXP doesn't offer much..
Activation, Slower Performance (than Win2k), a couple features I have to disable...and DOS sound. But then I played some DOS games, realized how often I'm going to do that in the future...and decided to stay with Win2k.

I will delay moving to WinXP from Win2k as long as I can. Why? The new Luna interface doesn't interest me at ALL (Aqua is so much better anyways). The thing runs slow, has annoying product activation, and beyond that, doesn't offer me any features I can't use now. XP is a waste of my time (much like WinME), and I plan to stay far far away from it.

I will be upgrading right after a sure-fire crack has been well-established... I mean, as soon as I save up enough money ;)

My most compelling reason sto upgrade is the compatibilty and stability. I will be migrating from Windows 2000, So I already have the stability. My main concern is with the Driver and Application compatibilty. Any software companies that are still actively producing products are having to check thier products with XP to make sure it works, which mean that it WILL work eventually. Also, gone are the days of trying to find a Specific program or driver that will run on Windows ME, but not on Windows 2000. I hate that, with a passion. As far as new hardware support, I always run slightly behind the "new technology" curve due to costs, so my hardware is already completely supported with matured drivers. If the compatibility wasn't there, I seriously doubt I'd be moving from Windows 2000. If it works, then why mess with it? Sompe people are still stuck on NT 4.0 with SP6. Why? They like it, it works, and they don't need the additional "features" and overhead that Windows 2000 offers. I like it and can deal with the overhead, so I'm using 2000. In addition, I do plan on upgrading my 850 thunderbird to at least a 1.2 Thunderbird in conjunction with an upgrade to XP.
