Poll: it is STUPID to have the word E B A Y blocked

Egay is a well known website that comes up in discussion fairly often. By blocking the name of the company, you force people to use variations of the name, the number one variation that is used is Egay.

Know this is in conflict with your "mandate" from a few weeks ago that put limits on the use of the word gay.

If you want to prevent people from linking to egay auctions, why not block the word "eBayISAPI" which is also contained in the URL of every egay auction, and won't come up in regular conversation anyways.
 
well, the fact that we dont have to scroll thru 100 egay for sale listings from trolls is nice.

is it that bad to hit the "g" instead of the "b"?
 
Ya know, I bet ya that this discussion came up in the past and apparently the mods did not change it then so why do you think they are going to chage it now?
 
i found it rather funny when I logged into AT and noticed a E.bay banner. strange how they promote them, yet ban their name

I've seen people banned for defeating the language filters....you guys are just flaunting it.

I believe that it's mostly there to keep the Eb@y crap out of the Hot Deals and FS/FT Forums.
