[poll] Is your computer useless w/o an internet connection?

Mine is I bought UT2K4 and BFV this week and either my cable modem died or Adelphia is messed up. Tech from Adelphia should arrive tomorrow along w/a new modem from the 'egg.

you should get an xbox for just such an emergency. I have been entertaining myself with Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2.

Things I could do w/o an internet connection:

1. Listen to music (both legal and illegal versions)
2. Watch movies/videos (again, both legal and illegal versions)
3. Use MS office - word, excel, etc
4. Play single player games
5. Free cell / Solitaire
6. Lan stuff
7. probably more

so yeah, pretty much useless heh.

YES! Back online from home. Something went bad in the connection box, Mr. Cable Guy fixed it quickly. Guess I didn't need to buy a new modem after all but at least I was able to return the one I was leasing from Adelphia and save $5/month. Pretty cool self-install wizard they have when the network detects a new cable modem, I didn't even have to call them to provide the MAC address or anything.
