I am not sure what the best ever is but that list would have to include some of the earlier sit-coms like The Dick Van *** Show, The Honeymooners, and I Love Lucy.

By far.....I really really really want them to come out with their seasons on DVD. I went to see Jerry Seinfeld standup and at the end someone asked him why they haven't come out with them yet and he said because all the cast is still getting money off the re-runs.

crazy..no hard feelings at all. The only reason I picked on you is because you stated that Seinfeld sucks as fact. You did not say "In my opinion, Seinfeld sucks. Just, "Seinfeld is not a great sitcom." Then you go on to say that the Simpsons is a "cartoon." How is that relevant exactly? It is still a sit-com.
 
I'd have to say M*A*S*H over Seinfeld. But Seinfeld is a close second. Friends has gotten stupid the past few years but it was good at first.

Totally agree. I think Seinfeld is number 2 though. Given a choice to watch Cheers or Seinfeld, I would always choose Cheers.
 
I voted YES over the Simpsons, my favorite show ever, simply because of this: Seinfeld knew when to quit. He left on a high note, never had a bad season except maybe the first (true for all shows), and you can turn the reruns on and it'll always be good. I respect that.

Simpsons, on the other hand, have too many bad shows. Anything after roughly 1997 is just bad, IMO. They're running out of ideas, dragging the Simpsons name through the mud, and the new shows just soil my taste for the Simpsons in general.

Seinfeld has more percentage of quality shows than any other show out there. They didn't resort to stupid love connections (Friends) or anything like that.
 
hey now.. friends is my favorite sitcom of all time... you cant really pick up the story and humor if you dont watch it from the beginning. i used to hate friends until i actually sat down and watched a whole season in a day

I always found it over-rated.... plus, anything that was at least funny once, they did over and over again in the same show.

2. Family Guy
3. Futurama

I always thought Seinfeld was overrated too. Sure they had some great episodes (No soup for you!) but I never died laughing every single time like I do when I watch Family Guy, or even South Park. You just can't get any better than The Simpsons, face it. 😀
 
man you guys are soo young. i can't believe NO ONE mentioned TAXI yet. best sitcom ever. best CAST ever. go back and look at who all was in that show sometime.
