No seperate FTP client and no temporary HTML files on your machine to delete, not to mention all the other useful features like automatic indenting, syntax highlighting, bracket matching, multiple undo, etc...
i also back up every page i work on before editing it. sometimes i have to revert the changes and such, or sometimes i change something, they dont like it, change it back. if the web master didnt have me jump through hoops, your technique would definetly be the route i'd follow. if its any consolation, when i have to create new pages or do massive work, i use the best editor of all, MS Front Page! j.k
