Once Trump takes office he will make all his federal criminal cases go away. He will pressure SCOTUS to make his state cases go away.

He promised to pardon all the J6 criminals.

I always knew deep down "no one is above the law" was not really true but with the second term of Trump along with the newly created immunity for him does this make "no one is above the law officially dead.

IMO - Only white Trump supporters are free from consequences. The rest of us are fucked.

What do you think?

But Smith already looking to end the cases. But one does hope he puts EVERYTHING in his final report. Only hoping Garland won’t hide it.

SCOTUS has no authority in state cases unless it involves federal law, or constitutional law.

It doesn't really matter though. As I said many times Trump was doomed from a criminal standpoint and the only way he could save himself was by becoming president again. (I just made the mistake of thinking that wasn't going to happen)

New York can't arrest him while he's president and I bet he will be leaning on New York VERY hard to have them drop the charges or whatever. As a New York resident this is a scary thought because Trump is so ludicrously corrupt that he will most likely use the federal government to attack his constituents for attempting to enforce the law against him.

He's not President now. Why not arrest him.

Arrest him for what? He was already arrested for these various crimes so there's no cause to arrest him again and in New York he hasn't been sentenced yet so there's no requirement for him to go to prison.

It would be difficult to dislike this situation more than I do as this guy is going to get away with dozens of felonies and a coup attempt, but that's what's going to happen.

Beyond that you still have the civil penalty against him. How does that disappear? On appeal now.

And he probably won't...

Sentence him and arrest. I know it would take massive stones by the NY judge but would be perfectly legal.

I know that will not happen which codifies the existence of this thread.

I get that from an emotional sense but he will appeal the sentence and it will be stayed pending appeal.

He isn't President yet, that doesn't happen until Jan 20. The Judge can sentence him to jail this month, and immediatly have him arrested. BTW, where is it in our constitution, or our laws that says a President can't be arrested while President?
