<< It is your opinion, and you are wrong 😉
Ever look up nissan in Consumer reports? How Maxima has all full red circles for reliability. Does Camry have that? Didn't think so. Also, I don't remember Maxima developing sludge in it's V6. No, the best V6 in US for 8 years running doesn't develop sludge. The toyota's engine does.
You are right that people buy niche cars. Nissan's performance Niche is growing, while toyota's baby boomer niche is going to start dying off soon. I think the younger generation is more excited about Altima, Maxima and Sentra then they are about Camry, Avalon or Corolla. I for one wouldn't touch a toyota, except maybe celica till I am 50. >>
You're going to sit here and tell me that Toyota as a whole is inferior in reliability to Nissan? Americans may be a lot of things, but they wouldn't make the Camry the best selling car for 5 out of 6 years if it had more problems than Nissan. If Camrys were so friggen bad, they wouldn't be selling ~400,000 of them for years on end. Toyota's are practically bulletproof and last forever; that's why people buy them. Same for Honda. There is just something about Nissan vehicles that Americans don't find as appealing as Hondas and Toyotas. Can you tell me what that is?:Q
And 70% of Camrys are 4-cylinder, not V6's...shows you that Americans don't care about performance...just safe, RELIABLE, DEPENDABLE, vehicles.
The Camry has made its name in being long-lasting, efficient, boring, and people-friendly. The Maxima has built its reputation on performance. Anyway, Toyota and Honda weren't the ones that needed to bailed out by the French😉
