Is a 2013 red beetle convertible a chick car?

  • Yes it is, no guy would be caught dead driving one.

  • Yes it sort of is, but a guy should drive whatever he wants.

  • No, it isn't a chick car at all.

And made it correct wheel drive, and styled it to actually look somewhat aero?

(So you'd buy a cheap Porsche.)

convertibles in general are often "chick cars", for some reason, the design tends to make them look like that. Idk maybe they're more rounded or something.
The beetle is def. a chick car in the coupé version already, but some men drive it and don't give a damn.

So the car we're talking about is probably a chick car.

But if you like it don't let that stop you, the miata looks faggy but plenty of cis-gendered heterosexual males love it regardless.
Just make sure you're buying it for the right reasons: you love the car and to drive it, and you don't care of others' judgement.

Car has a manual transmission and a diesel therefore "chick car" arguments are null and void.
those are standard options for european cars. In Italy diesel costs less than petrol so most cars are diesels, and all over europe people often buy manuals because
1. it costs less
2. they hate autos because they're used to manuals
unless it's a luxury car, in which case they may do it auto-only.
So I don't see how they make it less girly. Unless driving stick is a manly thing in the US.

Its a U.S. thing.
While girls are more likely to drive a Beetle and those that do drive one are 99.999999999999% more likely to drive an automatic.
A diesel Beetle+Convertible+manual transmission would be a custom order job in the States. I don't see any dealer in their right mind keeping one in stock.
It takes a special kind of person to check of the boxes for diesel engined manual transmission VW Beetle convertible in the US.
You can't just lump that into the "chick car" demographic.
That's more of a fetish kind of thing then anything else.

Yes, especially the convertible, but screw stereotypes - it's a great car!

My wife & I leased a "cyber green" New Beetle back in 2005 or so. Absolutely loved it. Technically it was her car, but it was so much fun to drive & I loved the design, I stole it all the time haha. Who cares what other people think, if you like it go for it!

Did you put a flower in the little cup near the gauge pod?

What if people think you're gay? :whiste::p

I've only ridden in one once, a guy I used to work with owned it. It seemed kind of cheap if you ask me. It wasn't particularly powerful, it wasn't roomy, it just seemed like very basic transportation. He had some problems with it too.

I had an NA Miata, absolutely loved it, and intend on getting one again at some point in the future. But right now, with two young daughters, having a car I can take the whole family in would be a huge advantage.

Pretty funny though - my wife thinks the Beetle is a chick car, and doesn't want me to get it. So she would rather me get the Miata, which she was dead set against before because of the impracticality.

I've seen about a half dozen redesigned Beetles in my area and the majority were being driven by guys. Nothing like the first gen New Beetle.

Simple answer. Whenever you have a passenger or get out from the car punch the closest person in the arm and say "slug bug".

Seriously, I see a ton more women than men in BMW's now, usually look like working professionals.

There was a black Tesla in my town being driven by a woman as well, although she was goosing it

All of the non-m BMW drivers on my train are women.
They lease it for the brand. Its like a pocketbook to them.
Same goes for the Infiniti's in the lot.

There are a few where the car is paid for by work.
