Same here, i can't believe that any other life-supporting planets wouldn't have been created along with ours.
 
I think that, based on the ammount of probable planets there are, there is a high chance that other intelligent life exists.
 
I'm agnostic about it. I assume there is, yet I must remian neutral until there is proof. I highly doubt any are visiting us, though.
 
I'm 100% sure that there is intelligent life "out there". Anyone who claims that there isn't is either delusional, egocentric or both.

An illogical statement. You can assume there is life (as I do), but you cannot prove it. You have 100% faith based on logical assumtions, but you cannot be 100% sure.

I'm 100% sure that there is life out there. That is my personal opinion. Meaning that me, myself is 100% sure that there is life out there, there is no doubt in my mind. Had I said that I'm 90% sure that there's life out there, it would have meant that there is a piece of doubt in my mind when it comes to that matter. But since there isn't any doubt, I'm 100% sure that there is life 🙂.
 
probably, because by pure chance, there should be some. i think the reason that we havent came in contact with them is because:
1.they have lower intelligence than us, if we cant even travel out of our solar system, neither can they
2.they are smarter than us but its just too damn far

When it comes to this, I have faith 🙂. In the end, it all comes down to numbers. There are countless star-systems out there in countless galaxies. To say our star-system (or just our planet) is the only one to have life would be an extreme leap of faith. I think I'm simply being logical on this matter.

It seems more likely than not. I find it moderately likely that we might have even been visited at one time or another, but I doubt it's a regular occurence. I voted not sure, but if we ever find proof I won't be surprized.

Logical? Logical would be to stop at 99.99% certainty without definitive proof.
 
Ever thought of the posibility that we have made contact, but are not made aware of it because we're not ready?
Maybe the government is hiding it from the public due to the mass chaos it may cause (religion vs. science).


But if it is just us, like the Dr Arroway said: "it seems like an awful waste of space."
 
To quote a comic strip (I think it was Calvin and Hobbes): "The best proof we have that there is no intelligent life outside Earth is that we dont hear them laughing..."

The fact that we exist (at least in our own minds) is proof that life can exist, eleswhere. Given the size of the universe and a number of other galaxies, solar systems and planets far greater than we can imagine, let alone observe with current technology, statistically, it is highly improbable that intelligent life, even within our own shallow understanding of the term, is a singular phenomenon.

Translation -- It is much more likely than not that we are not the only sentient lifeforms in the universe. 🙂
 
I read in an article the other day that Astronmers estimate that there are 30 Billion Earth Like Planets in our galaxy. If that is even remotly close to being true, i find it hard to believe we are the only intelligent life in the Galaxy/Universe etc.

Is this or a similar article online by any chance? Seems kind of steep.
 
I have complete faith that other life exists in the universe and about 80% faith that some form of intelligent life exists. I'm about 50/50 on whether there is actually a form of high intelligence in existance, even on Earth. 😉
 
If there is anything out there (and I think there is), one thing I'd like to know is what kind of computers they are using. They are probably laughing at our 2GHz P4 with 128MB GF4 😀
