Keep in mind that Rambus is HELLA cheap, and is also closing the price gap...

P4 1.4 vs 1.4 T-Bird is NOWHERE close. T-bird for sure. If the 1.8 P4 costs the same as 1.4 T-Bird, then I'd consider Intel.

The benchies I'VE see (but am too lazy to post) show intel ahead usually, by a small margin...

Comparing P4 and Athlon at equal clock rate? No contest. I'll take the Athlon, thank you. That's irrespective of the costs of other system components.

what kind of speed are you refering to? im guessing the frequency... if you mean the same frequencey CPUs currently from intel and amd were the same price... id buy an amd cuz it performs better
