POLL: If you pay for MS OS.

i guess i "paid" for the version that came on my pc and laptop. i've also bought xp professional from school for a whopping $5. gotta love student discounts 🙂

Are you actually asking us whether we are using an illegal copy of MS windows?!
You should rephrase your question if that is not what you mean..

I own legit copies of Win95 OSR1 and 2, Win98SE, 2 WinME's, NT4 Workstation, Win2K Server, WinXP Pro. That answer your question? And yes, they were all paid for.

Paying your buddy $5 to burn an ISO of Winderz does not qualify as purchasing it! 😀

Had Windows 98 on PC.
Bought 98SE upgrade for $20 from MS.
Bought Windows 2000 Upgrade ~$150 (I'm not sure on price).
Bought WindowsXP for ~$30 (Student discount)

I've paid for every MS OS since Win95. All of them cost me five dollars a piece through the MS Campus Agreement.

"Bought" Win98 with my new laptop in Aug 1998
Bought Win2000 Pro a few months after it came out @ student price of ~ $100
Got WinXP Pro free from the M$ Rep on campus in Dec 2001
