I wouldn't buy one if they were giving out a lifetime warranty and lifetime BJ's.
Just ain't worth it.
The whole appeal of a Hyundai is that it has a long warranty and is inexpensive for what you get. If you take one of those factors away of course sales would go down. I own two Hyundais. I based my purchases more on talking to people, reading online reviews, and ACTUALLY DRIVING THE CARS...which I'd wager 99% of the people posting in this thread have not.
soo... what did you vote?
I forgot to vote.
It would depend on what warranty they offered. I wouldn't buy any car with NO warranty. But if it was cut in half to five years I would still buy it based on the fact that I've had my 1st Hyundai for over 2 years now without any problems. And I've driven the sh!t out of it.
I would buy it as a commuter car,
And I think thats why most people buy them. No one is buying a Hyundai to show off. Some people just don't need expensive cars to feel important.
Well Hondas and Toyotas aren't that much more expensive and you get MUCH better quality and reliability. There is really no contest. Hyundais/KIA's are just for cheapskates
If Honda and Toyota is not more expensive than Kia, I would definitly buy Honda or Toyota, but in fact, they are not. I bought my 2002 Sedona last year for $17800, it is a basic one without ABS, 2003 Sienna is about $23500 and 2004 Sienna is about $26000, about Honda odyssey, LX cost about $28000 and EX about $31600 I got a Kia Rio recently for $8700 minus $1000 loyalty rebate with AT & AC, a similar echo is about $12300, corolla about $13500 for CE. Civic DX is about $13500. Of course, if you have enough money to spend, corolla & civic will give you better ride, better resale value and stronger engine and a lot more dealer available, I am poor, I need a transportation to take me from point a to b, since recently summer time in LA temperature reach high 90s all the time, I need AT & AC, beside that, everything is not neccessary to me. I can't tell you how reliable or unreliable is their car 'cos I am still a new owner, even I own a sedona for 1 year already, I did not need any repair so far, I can't tell you the future, but I drove it with bunch of luggages, 8 people to LV several times, No Cal couple times, yosemite, San Diego for many times, never have any problem except I only got 22mpg in the long trip compare to 26mpg of odyssey. I am wondering for those people said Kia Hyundai is bad, did you ever own one of them? Or you saw the people writting about them in internet? Before I bought it, I was stupid enought to talk to a lot of Kia owners face to face, and I went to their service dept and talk to the owner of theose service car. I do believe pre-2K is junk, my friend has an excel, unfortunate, he is not Mr. Rodney King who can drive his excel faster than a police car, but talking to the owner really change my mind.
