The show already has one comedian with Arty, now they just need a loose cannon. Someone who's guaranteed to screw up a lot and do some incredibly insane things just for the hell of it. Who's better for that slot than Cabby. Besides his voice is cool.

Cabbie is a bit of a loose cannon, but he has about the same wit and humor as a box of rocks, and he's one of the most annoying personalities ever on the show. I say Artie is a perfectly adequate loose cannon, and I want humor, so I cast my vote for Richard Christy.

Thats the great thing about Cabby and Stuttering John was that they had no wit. Think about all the classic moments with John, doing whip-its in public, smoking weed in restuarants, claiming he felt up Robin, etc.. He was so funny because the dude was just loose and did'nt really give a fvck, that made for some really good bits in my opinon.

Cabby would be a perfect fit, he's already shown naked pics of his girlfriend and admitted to having gay sex. Imagine if he was on the show 5 days a week and interviewing celebs.

after hearing some of the recaps i did like cabby better then i thought and richard christy's recap wasnt very funny at all.

ill be really annoyed if yukko wins, I dont think i could take him for 3 months...

hmm tryin to decide now between sal, richard christy and cabby.

I think christy is probably the funniest, but will also be the least made fun of

heh that Cabby episode was disturbing, he spent almost an hour trying to convince Howard that a man receiving oral from another man once was not gay.

Cabbie would be the LAST guy I'd vote for... I can't stand him whatsoever.

I did officially vote for Yucko.

I'd be a little wary of making too much out of the actual week-long auditions. I have been a regular listener for about the last 8 years, and IMO their respective contributions over the years don't necessarily correlate to their weeks:

Dan the SMP: Brilliant song-parody guy, but not the wittiest guy in person IMO. Definitely very talented in the studio.

John the Stutterer - Sad, lonely weirdo with no real sense of humor. You can't laugh with him, just at him, and this won't hold up well over time IMO. Really a non-issue anyway, since he won't take the job if he wins.

Cabbie - Horribly annoying blowhard. No sense of humor, and only accidentally funny. Brought us brilliant radio when he admitted to gay sex, but he is such a liar that you can't take anything he says seriously. Would make the show unlistenable and add nothing IMO.

Chaunce - Definitely the least-talented as a broadcaster of the entire group. Only interesting in that he is such a sad, sensitive loser, and has no self-esteem. Like Cabbie, he has interesting gossip to spread, but it largely seems to be made up, so his only contributions would come from his own pathetic life.

Joey Boots - Might be a good Wack Packer, but not really bright/versatile enough to be a good winner.

Shuli - Makes up great games, but is basically too dull for my taste. Seems like a good guy but just too low-key.

Sal - Brilliant week, but up until that week he was pretty much a one-trick pony (goofing on Gary full time). He has had ten years to prove himself, but never contributed real laughs until his week trial. He would be a good replacement for John in that he would immediately be butting heads with Gary.

Yucko - Strong, funny performer. The problem is, who will you get? He can't stay in character the entire time, because Howard's show is not about schtick, and we don't know who he really is. His routine gets annoying over time IMO, and I can't imagine him on the show every day.

Reverend Bob - Very talented, dark comic. I'm surprised his week was pretty lame. He would add a lot in terms of outrageous road stories, and would be a great addition IMO.

Richard Christy - He has contributed literally dozens of the funniest bits to the show over the last few years. His song parodies are the best the show has had in recent years, and he seems surprisingly clever and funny off-the-cuff as well. Would add an interesting chemistry because he isn't the standard NY/NJ Stern cast member. His week was not the best IMO.

My own vote is for Richard Christy, and my runner-up would be Reverend Bob, followed by Sal. None of the rest would be good choices IMO.

I agree with most of what you say, except I do think it would be funny to laugh at cabbie...thats why the main decision is what i am going for...someone smart and who can come up with funny stuff, or someone just to laugh at :)

He is amazingly clueless in terms of what's entertaining IMO: "No, dude, that's not Mandarin, it's Cantonese!"

He does have entertainment value as an all-around freak, but I think the anal story was about as good as we'll ever get from him, and he's just such a liar that it becomes boring to listen to his "revelations".

You can actually get a better sense of his exploits over on Stern Fan Network (which was where he posted, then removed, nude pics of his GF). That makes him redundant on the Stern show IMO.

Huh - I got home today, only to find an e-mail from Richard Christy himself! I had sent him a supportive message at the start of his week. He really seems like a nice, humble guy.

In case anyone's interested, there is a Torrent here of a folder containing most of RC's bits, edited into short clips. I was laughing my ass off relistening to them. How can anyone not vote for the man who brought you "Shove a Gerbil in Me"?

Listening to the recaps on TrimSpa, I would have to say Yucko's is the funniest, by far. However, I don't think I'd be able to listen to him on air for three months. His stuff gets old.

I voted for Richard Christy. Yucko was funny, but in terms of pure talent I think RC has it.

I voted for Sal, but after thinking about it I think he would get on my nerves pretty quick. Richard Christy will be doing all kinds of stuff behind the scenes which is cool.
