You have a point. However, I do work out every day. Today I will hike for 2+ hours, a 1000 foot climb and descent. 30th day in a row! Can't hit the gym right now because I had carpal tunnel surgery a month ago. Can't ride my bike yet either, but I can hoof it, and LOVE IT!My rare P&N comment.
Life is better when politics takes a very far backburner to the things that make life enjoyable. Most of the time it doesn't even enter my periphery.
As someone that works out nearly every day, mental health is as important as physical health. Politics rot the brain.
That really is the truth of it. If Trump had been offed Saturday his supporters would still be Trumpers, a lot of them. Best if he loses in November, better decisively. So, what Joe's saying isn't just the right thing to say in terms of optics, it's correct in terms of what's best for everybody. Meantime, yeah, I'm nervous. Yes, I wished that the guy had been a better shot, but beating Trump at the polls is the best eventuality, on multiple levels.I would have guessed an attempt on Joe's life first. Trumpp supporters are fucking nuts, and they believe Joe is the real problem. Biden supporters are rational and while they hate Trump, they know it would only stir up the morons even more towards their disillusionment if something happened to the orange god. Better to have him lose again and just slink away.
Seriously? I thought that the cop dropped down from the 2 handed hold he had on the roof because the shooter pointed the rifle at him. That's what I heard. The police approached the shooter before the hit on Trump. Because PA is an open carry state they couldn't do anything.
Think about that all you 2A absolutists.
Surprised it took so long, was this the first attempt ever on him?
Anyway to those saying too bad it missed.
Where do you think all of his supporters go once he is out of the picture? They dont just disappear overnight, you guys got a deeper problem than who leads either party.
When the best you can do is Trump and Biden you need to look at the entire system, and your society. *Insert anyone of Carlins famous political quotes*

You make a good point there. 😉 I'm still planning to celebrate in extraordinary fashion the announcement of his death. The problem is that his supporters are in a cult like trance. If Trump were gone, the spell would be broken. Sure someone might try and step into trumps shoes but it’s unlikely they would be able to keep the same hold on them that trump has.
Without Trump to hold the right wing world together, people will start to question what they’ve been told and normalcy would slowly return with only a smaller right wing base remaining.
Cherry on top, one of his own crazies. At least a Republican.Assassination attempts on Presidents or candidates are not by any means historically uncommon so to a certain extent expected.
In Trump's case specifically he cuts a higher than usual profile and tickles the crazies making it just more likely.

Trump has literally spent his entire political career since 2015 using violent rhetoric, encouraging violence, mocking the victims of violence, and hand waving away violence committed in his name (if not outright celebrating it). It was inevitable someone was going to resort to violence as a result, though him being the target is a little surprising if also a bit amusing.
He’ll ride this high for as long as possible. But once DNC conference happens and Biden to the bedwetters dismay will be the candidate, let’s see how polls swing to Biden. The orange monkey will double down then.I really do wonder if Trump is going to double down on his rhetoric and start raising the roof on getting revenge via 2A solutions on his enemies.
And it's laughable that this talk of uniting the nation behind Trump's assassination attempt coming from the Republican camp when they and especially so Trump have been very busy dividing the nation to their advantage.
No matter what happens from this day on, Trump is still the exact same guy after he got his ear rearranged, he will still pursue his effort to be The King of America or maybe even double down on that effort, so there's absolutely no reason to cut him any slack because he got his own hate and fear rhetoric turned on himself.
My rare P&N comment.

Well, for some of us it potentially has direct and dire implications. My rare P&N comment.

Yes, I'd like to not go to an, uh, what will they call it, a "moral wellness enhancement camp" maybe? That works great right up until the backburner sets you on fire. Far too often lately politics has shifted from boring fights over tax cuts to 'these people shouldn't have rights' and 'maybe we should build concentration camps'.
Hard to stay out of politics at that point; looks more like you're stuffing your head in the sand.
I did 5 miles & 1250' in an hour and forty minutes yesterday 🙂You have a point. However, I do work out every day. Today I will hike for 2+ hours, a 1000 foot climb and descent. 30th day in a row! Yes, I would far, far rather he just face justice for some of his many documented crimes. I know the odds aren't great, but they aren't zero, on account of all the criming. Whoever replaced him would just be another Heritage/Federalist-backed crony with the same goals and less pudding-for-brains.Surprised it took so long, was this the first attempt ever on him?

Please tell me more 🙂With all the crazy hyperbole going on it was bound to draw out some crazies that actually believe the bull shit.
2nd amendment remedies but both sides do it?Please tell me more 🙂
I think mine's about 6 miles. Fastest is 2 hours. My time suffers because left knee pain, don't know what's wrong, maybe ligament issues. Comes and goes but I know I'm not out of the woods even if it doesn't hurt. I have to be careful descending not to go too fast. Otherwise I could maybe make it in 110 minutes or faster. I see people running downhill. I could have done that in my 40's, I was a big runner until my left foot started "killing me."I did 5 miles & 1250' in an hour and forty minutes yesterday 🙂
Healthy amounts are fine.
It's when it has taken over a persons life is when it's unhealthy.
That's most people here.
Pretty reasonable to take caution, would be unfortunate to cause an injury. I do some downhill trail running to get my heart rate back up, since walking downhill often leaves my heart rate in the 110-120BPM range. Kinda depends on my training plan for the day.I think mine's about 6 miles. Fastest is 2 hours. My time suffers because left knee pain, don't know what's wrong, maybe ligament issues. I have a new PCP, haven't met her yet. She's an osteopath, maybe she can help me, I'm hoping. Will see her in a month. The knee, left leg in general, is going to be the #1 issue I talk to her about. Her assistant told me I'll get 15 minutes! 🙁 Then have to make followup appt to see her again...

A fair chance my left leg problems stem from a couple of quad skating accidents I had when wheels fell of left skate. Xmas 2021 and April 2022. I was skating 10 miles/day, every day. Both happened when I was going down a slight grade, which didn't help. I still don't trust those skates. I stopped skating regularly when I got back in the gym after pandemic cooled down (but I still mask up in there, I'm in a very small minority in that regard). I plan to visit skate shop(s) and try to develop faith in my skates. My skating is excellent, but when your wheels fall off, all bets are off.Pretty reasonable to take caution, would be unfortunate to cause an injury. I just did about 3 miles on Green Mountain this morning up past the beaver ponds at the turn off toward the old tin mine. Usually do Lake Symington but I needed a change this morning.Well, for some of us it potentially has direct and dire implications.
