Poll: How often do you folks work-out?

Well, I am doing indoor track for my school this year, so I have to get back into shape. Not that I was ever out of it, I just need to get into BETTER shape. So I stayed after in the nice, new weight room that we just got in my school (the old weight room sucked) and I am a lil sore but it feels good.

I better hurry up though, indoor track starts in 6 days! 😱 It's okay though, we get about 3 weeks of gradual training before anything too terribly tough, so I'm just getting 4 weeks basically.

I love that lil sore but strong feeling after a workout!

🙂

Anyway, how often do YOU work out?

snow patrol, closer to 6 minutes off the world record. 😉

I have to do the mile in school (I was injured when we originally did it) next Tues after school, I am shooting for x<6:00 minutes this time. By the time track ends I hope I can do it in around 5:00.

I can't get my mile under 11.5, but I don't care. I jog 3 miles a day and it takes me 35 minutes, good enough for me.

I work out almost every day... cross train with biking, hiking, weights, and Pilates. I'm still not where I want to be, but this baby making business has set me back a few times.

🙂

I don't work out.
I rarely get out of this chair for any non-manditory activities(it has a seatbelt and noo back so i can more easily move between computers).
I'm about 5'10", 150lbs, and virtually noo fat.
I can run the mile in about 8 mins without any discomfort, pain, or shortness of breath(unless if my allergies act up, and then it takes me about 11-15 mins, assuming i can still breathe).
I eat constantly.
I can work for practically forever without getting tired.
I'm also an insomniac(Sleep? What's that?).
I am very lazy, as well as computer-oriented.

Whoever made gym mandatory?

my favorite muscle i work out every day 😉 i'd be an olympian gold medalist if they had wrist aerobics in sydney! 😎

"Usually when I get the urge to work out I just lay down until it goes away."
I don't know who to give credit for that but those are pretty much words to live by as far as I'm concerned.

Track, huh? The general rule for running sports is that experience = improvement. I'd say run everyday for about 30 Min. to an hour. Since you're doing indoor track, I'd focus on sprints, repeats, and tempo runs to improve distance. Try to vary your workout too. Don't think that running hard everyday gets better results. Take an easy day before and after hard days.

One time I was able to do the mile in 8:36 but that was a few years ago. Im not overweight at all either, I guess im just really pathetic. My friend can do 3 miles in less then 17:30, and those are continuous.

3 times a week strength and cardio (sp?) training for me. Been doing it for about 5 months and I'm gettin' pretty strong 🙂

3 times/week. high intensity weight training. *flexes muscles* 😛

you're a fscking bastard, that's what you are. 😉

btw, one of these days your abuse to your gifted metabolism system will make it die off and you'll grow old and fat 😉

Well...I don't go to the gym or anything. But...I do about 50 crunches and 20 pushups when I wake up in the morning and before I go to sleep at night.

If you work those muscles until pure failure then give them a day or two off and do it again, it'll do ya a helluva lot more good than twice a day 🙂 then again, it all depends on what you wanna do.
