Cheap skate my ass. Its not how much you spend, its about knowing your partner and getting her what she wants. 2 plants, burned some CDs she wanted, some snack food, and a card. 15 bucks, and she will be MORE than happy. You are trying too hard.

Last year, I splurged so this year I'm reigning it in -- she got a $300 set of cookware last year.

Not to mention that xmas and her birthday were both a little excessive this year.

So this year, her gift is me struggling to cook a romantic dinner + flowers, yay
