I'd say around 90 million - theres the R rated problem, Wednesday and Thursday not counting for the weekend take, and the initial buzz isn't too positive - although that could still change.

So, at least as many people are capable of seeing "Reloaded" as were capable of seeing "The Matrix"...

the Matrix was R. Shouldn't have been, as far as I'm concerned. Damn the MPAA.

I think it will probably be around $122 million for the 4 day total or thereabouts. Its hard to really predict, I think its rated R so that will hurt ticket sales a bit. So I will have to say for the three day weekend total it will be around $88 million, but have to see what happens right?

Why does everyone keep saying the "weekend take" is only for Fri-Sat-Sun? I thought the whole point of opening a movie on Thursday was to improve its "weekend" figures while possibly hurting "opening day" numbers since it doesn't open on a Friday.

Hmmm

Edit: $93m in the first 3 days, $135m in the first 4...

that seems about right. remember that in addition to the $93 million, the movie made $42.5 million on just the thursday showings alone. had they not opened the movie that early, the thursday viewers would have seen it either friday or sat. that would have brought reloaded to the #1 slot w/ $135 million.

Not true - because a lot of theaters were sold out. I'm sure the movie will make another $60-70 mil next weekend, a lot of people that wanted to see it didn't get to.

What does the "R" rating have to do with the sales? When i went, i heard a fricken baby crying in the theater and these obnoxious 7 year olds behind me burping and kicking my chair..

$135 Million in the first 4 days is A LOT considering it's a R rated movie. I think Spider-Man took in $125 Million in it's first 4 days while Attack of the Clones took in $110 Million.
But it's still #2 behind Spider-Man in the Friday-Sunday weekend take. :)

Yeah - they'll start their profit from the 2nd week on. I mean, the actor costs probably doubled from the first one.

I didn't read the thread to see if this has already been said, but from the 135mil figure for the cumulative gross as of Sunday night... 17 million tickets were bought to see this movie (using a $8/ticket avg).

well its only that way because they took the pressure off with those 10pm showings on wednesday:) from the showing listings each theater had it playing every 30 minutes from 10pm for most of the theaters in my area!
