POLL: How much money do you have tied up in Mail-In-Rebates?

I just got some money back today after about 3 months and I was wondering how much everyone had in money tied up in this garbage. I stay away from them whenever possible, so right now I'm MIR-free 😀.

Poll is in USD

I like to forget about them. That way when I get the mail and see a check, it makes me feel great...

so much i forget about it. and when the refund comes im supprised. takes me awhile to remember what it was for

$710 from the Dell 8250 deal. It's been 4 months. I need to do some hardcore yelling once the semester is over. :disgust:

BAH, I buy too many things that have rebates, and ALWAYS, ALWAYS forget to send them in because of my procrastination and laziness

altho, that HD for $30 after rebates sounds tempting...😱

Currently, $50 for a Maxtor HD rebate.

Most ever was around $1,300.00

I figured you'd like them, though I wonder who the other Grand Nagus is... The only other I know of is MysticMan1... Could there be an imposter Grand Nagus?!?!?!?

Yeah, me too. That said, I've been known to have a few out. Somehow I wound up getting two rebate checks for the same hot deal, so I wound up getting paid for a monitor. That's always nice. When I called Staples about it, they said, "We didn't make a mistake." When I read them the numbers for the checks, they said, "We didn't make a mistake." When I cashed both checks, they sent me a letter and said they made a mistake. I wrote them back with a copy of the tape from the phone conversation and a note which said, "You didn't make a mistake." Didn't hear anything from them ever again.

Isn't it illegal to record conversations without telling the other person you're recording?

Yes. When they told me that they didn't mistake, I got the tape recorder and said, "This conversation is now being recorded." I then proceeded to read the numbers for the checks, and they still said they didn't make a mistake. So I figured I was good to go.

I couldn't agree more! Even though I got all back but one, I try to find a deal with instant rebates or just being on sale at a low price.

I have received everything back except a $2.50 check from Inland 🙁 they didnt provide a phone number to call in case the check dont show.

I treat rebates like surprise paychecks...I dont count on them til they are in my hand (in 6-8 weeks after the rebate is processed, which can be up to 8 weeks after it is received)....I think I have heard that line once or twice before

zero

i dont jump on MIR's..im usually too lazy to fill them out...keeps me from buying stuff i dont need
