I'm 26, married with no kids and probably have a little over $60k between my wife and I. Lots more in short term investments.
 
The question is a little misleading. My wife and I each have an RRSP (Canadian for 401K) that is tax free retirement savings, but beyond that we also have other investment vehicles, savings and assets, all of which will be used to fund our retirement. Strictly speaking we have between $250k and $500k in RRSP savings, and counting all forms of investment and assets we are >$1.7m. Our goal is $2m before I retire.

btw I have gathered almost exactly $15k so far, but my yearly salary doesn't even reach $20k so it's not that incredibly easy. I'm 29 now. I know it sucks but that's life.
