[POLL] - How much gas do you put in when you fill up?

Filling after the click is illegal in many locations. Not that anyone will do anything about it though. But if you do overflow, you could technically be stuck with a very expensive EPA cleanup bill.

I pay with a CC, so I don't care one bit about round numbers. Its a Civic, so I'm at about $20 for a 11-12 gallons now.

no option for:

i fill the tank until it clicks then keep going until it is really full... regardless of $$$ amount of gallon amount.

🙂

I continue to pump the gas until I'm satisfied. Sometimes the gas just pours all over the ground, but I don't care. Then sometimes I light a match and blow up the gas station when I leave.

Pay at the pump. I just keep pumping and pumping until it clicks off. Usually between 10-11 Gallons (gas tank is 12 total).

exactly my point of view as well.

I fill it up until it clicks once. I don't fancy the smell of gasoline in my car, so my fill ups end there. 🙂

I also pay at the pump with a CC. I'll sometimes pay inside if I'm on a trip and I go into the station for a soda or a snack.

I drive up and ask the guy to fill it up. the gas station attendant usually rounds it up to the nearest $.25. I pay at the pump while sitting in my car.

I hate uneven amounts, so I try to even it off after it clicks. Especially at the pumps that charge $0.35 for paying with ATM so if it stops at like $24.87 then I'll keep squeezing until it hits $25.15 so that it adds the $0.35 and ends up being $25.50 I know I'm weird like that...but it's nicer when you're balancing the check book every couple of weeks.

$25.50, what are you driving a hybrid? Costs me $60 to fill mine up. :|

It usually costs me under $20 to fill up...I have a 10 gallon tank 😛

It means I have to fill up a LOT though...I get decent mileage, but 10 gallons in woefully small.

I just ran my car down to the lowest it's ever been, and when I filled it, it came to 22.50. 10.004 gallons. I was appalled at paying more than $20 to fill 'er up.

My personal ride I usually put in $30, it seems to ride better without a full tank, Chevy Tahoe btw with 30 gallon tank.

For my work ride I just let it go until it clicks off and I don't mind since I'm not paying for it anyways.

POS Costco pump forgot to click one time:|

<---goes back and sits in his car while the car fills up

POS pump made the tank overflow and it messed up the gauge(bobber) now it is fvked up:|

I like to figure out my MPG, so I let it fill until it clicks. That way I know how much gas I used since last time and I can figure out my MPG. If I topped it off, I wouldn't always fill the tank the same amount (although it'd probably only change my MPG by like 0.1 or so).
