usually its cheap.

I get about 500 mins free a month and left over minutes roll over for 3 months. I mainly use my calls off peak and to people of the same network. So this saves me lots of money. Helps having most of your friends on the same network. I also pay only £2.50 for my line rental as part of this deal that I got 10 months ago.

I did have a bill of £59 for last month though. Parents weren't happy about it EVEN though I AM PAYING for my own bills:frown:

I spend about 120, but that includes three phones. Just one on the same plan would be about 45 I think. Sprint PCS

I spend about $25-30...

but my parents got a new deal with Verizon: $20 a month for 150 peak and 1900 off-peak all over the country. GOOD DEAL if you ask me.

$39.99 per month gets me:

600 weekday anytime free long distance and free roaming minutes
UNLIMITED weekend anytime free long distance and free roaming minutes

Combine that with my Nokia 6190 and I'm a happy camper.

$33 per month after tax, that's Canadian funds too

I'm with Rogers AT&T..., it's a nice phone - (Nokia 3360) and a decent plan with call display and all. I am satisfied.

Cell phones scare me. I hate the idea of people being able to get a hold of me where ever I am.

I don't have a landline. I use a verizon pre-pay phone. Card costs $30 and lasts for 60 days. Thus I spend about $15-20/month. As you can tell I don't use the phone much (use at work if I need to). People who yap all day on their cellphones about unimportant crap are pathetic.

azazyel:

Two options - turn the phone off (nobody reaches you, hehe). Or screen your calls with Caller ID :)

I have a $30/month plan with Cingular. 250 anytime, unlimited between 9pm-7am and on weekends. Works for me, although I come close to the anytime limit each month (more so when I'm not in school, hehe). Cingular is TDMA here, I have the Nokia 3360 (got it for $25 when they were running the 1/2 off sale), and it works just fine. From what I've heard, this is the phone to have now.

I've had the phone for a month tomorrow, and I've used it for 8 hours..I don't have the problems that people on Cingular in CA claim to have. Nokia is coming out with two new phones within the next coupla months. For GSM (Cingular on the West Coast, and in the Southeast, Voicestream, a lil part of AT&T) Nokia is releasing the 8390. For TDMA (Cingular in the midwest, AT&T most places) they are coming out with the 6360. I don't know of any new CDMA (Verizon/Sprint PCS) Nokia phones - Sprint already has a bunch of cool phones (from 4 of my friends that have it, the service is fine, but from others I've heard more complaints than any other carrier) and they don't carry any new Nokia's.

wirelessadvisor.com (industry reps) and howardchui.com (more end user, hacker types) have good information, I frequent forums on both sites.

Don't have one and never will unless my company makes me have one in the future.

My plan gives me 300 peak mins for $35/month, but I tend to go over that and end up spending up to $100 a month. :( I'm keeping better track of my usage nowadays though.

I have the old sprint 3500 minute/$35 deal. Tack on $10/mo for Wireless Web (I don't care what anyone says, I love it) and taxes, and I'm up there at about $50/mo.

I just got a Sanyo SCP 6000, and I LOVE this phone. So thin, so light, and tons of cool features. Now if I could just find the data connection kit for it...:|

My wife and I got Nextel. $80 a month for both phones. We get 600 minutes to share between both phones on peak and 2,000 off peak times. We also get 400 minutes of direct connect to use between both phones. I use the direct connect a lot and I only had 177 minutes last month. Oh, and free long distance as well. That really makes calling cheap. :)
Needless to say, we don't use the land line for long distance anymore. :)

The phones were a little expensive, $150 per phone, but we got the i90c. We love em! :)

I switch between the Verizon national plan ($55 for 400 weekday/weeknight and 3500 weekend minutes) and the mid-west regional plan ($45 for 350 weekday and 3500 weeknight/weekend) as needed. Sounds more expensive than some others, but I never have to pay a cent for roaming (or long distance), no matter where I am. They even have a plan that covers Canada, should I ever travel there.
