No option for "Finish out the term only". That's my guess. If it goes down, and he takes over as 46, he'll be too tainted to win re-election.

1 or 3 or 2 or something. Since I didn't find my option I picked eleventy.

Real answer, remainder of Trump's term.

Hopefully Trump makes it all 8 and then Pence gets the next 8, and hopefully the GOP makes steady gains in the House and Senate along the way, too. Here's to President Ryan in 2032!

I think he will go down with Trump. Trump seems to be smartly involving him in all the crazy, so I think it'll be easy to hang both and we'll have president Ryan.

maybe pence is the one who'll quit first. trump wasnt joking when he said he would offload as much work as possible on the vp. as far as i can tell he's doing a shitload of damage control and herding cats

when this doesnt happen are you going to obstruct everything?

Trump will be there for the entire 4-year term. Up here in Toronto, Canada we had the same situation play out with Rob Ford; there are no controls to make someone quit if their party is complicit in looking the other way.

It has to happen. Conservative America will not wake up until their lives are destroyed by conservative policies and there is no way to blame Democrats for their problems. I figure 30 straight years of GOP control might be enough to get some of them to start to reconsider.

I'm saying 3. If Trump gets the boot (I'm not assuming he will), Pence will be damaged goods by association. He'll be more competent and less petty than Trump, but he's unlikely to have the courage to reverse much of the damage Trump will have done by that point.

Sure, either conservative rule + bad economy could in theory make them reconsider, or liberal rule + good economy. I'll take option B, though I do see the value in a Trump presidency in discrediting the right. Maybe not to hardcore conservatives, but to all the swing voters. Trump is an accelerant anyway. It won't take 30 years.
