POLL: How many times do you reinstall Windows over one year? (Your primary PC)

Windows 98 at least 4 times🙁
Windows 2K twice😛
Windows XP Just Once🙂

But I hit the edit message button more than once 😱

I reinstalled XP many times this year due to a motherboard upgrade. Otherwise I would only load once!

98 too many times to count
Exactly

Win XP has been running on some of my boxes since it came out without any major problems but I have had to reinstall it on my box at work twice since it launched. That box has always had problems though.

Win 2k has been very stable, I have never had to reinstall it. The Rebel Alliance queue runs on it and made it over 100 some odd days before reboot, due to patches I had put off longer than I should have.😱

I have had 2k advanced server boxes stay up for months on end and only had to reboot them because of patches.

Just replied one install, even if I just installed it twice this weekend... 🙂

I have been playing with the install of my programs, so I made a ghost image, and then installed som programs to test their install.
Now Im installing them again, but this time for real 😛

You're obviously missing other reasons for a re-install, how 'bout a "I had to re-install/do a repair install more than once this year because I nuked the data on my HDD overclocking" option 😉 On my main system I've had to re-install twice for that reason, on some of my others I've had to re-install frequently because I swap parts in 'em a lot.

Only when I do a major upgrade that requires it. I'm on dial up so it kinda sucks downloading patches and service packs over and over, plus I rarely have to worry with Windows 2000 Professional 😀

I actually only have to reinstall XP when I upgrade my mobo (every other week as of late 😛)

Have to give XP credit.... I was doing it about 4 times a year with 98SE

<---- had WinMe up for over 6 months without a reboot.

On a system running 2k, about a year. I need to install XP real soon. Like within about a week.

98SE 4 times a year which does not include upgrades.
W2K 4 times, but decided it's not that great of an OS. I no longer use it.
WinME twice
WinXP Home, three times.

These do not include computer upgrades which needed a new install. Otherwise I lost count because of that.

Yep that applies to my 2nd rig with Win 98SE!😉
My main rig has Win2k (& Win98SE) which I installed once in Nov 2001 ,its survived a mbrd upgrade too😉 ,so has 98SE......well sort of ,its pretty iractic atm.

About every six months I do a major system upgrade and start out with a "fresh" Win2K install. Besides that, Win2K has been very stable for me.
