that's nasty op.

i didnt know what i was voting on :(

anyways, i dont reuse tea bags that way. i make about a gallon of tea with 5 tea bags and 1 flavored tea bag. making that much requires that i boil the tea bags 2x.

Drinking tea instead of coffee (used to drink coffee until my cardiologist told me to drink tea instead) also allows me to save money on milk since I drink my tea black but would put 1/2 milk in my coffee. When you drink 10-12 cups a day, it adds up. :)

Your cardiologist should have told you to stop drinking so much ****** tea.

Imagine the savings then.

:p

My Great-Grandma used a teabag at LEAST three times, and would save them over a couple of days for that purpose.
I'll reuse it once in the same 'session' but usually if I want more than a cup I'll make a pot with two teabags, and that will suffice.

~~oh and Dennil you should just get a samovar and be done with it.

if it's a teabag i usually throw it out after the first use. if it's loose or 'better' stuff, i'll reuse it once.

When your milk gets chunky do you put water in it to make it skim milk?

I know every dollar counts, but last time I was at a grocery store a regular box of 20 tea bags was less than $2.00. I don't think that's THAT much.

I drink a few cups of Rooibos (aka Red Tea, even though it's a South African Shrub) a day, and I never reuse a bag. I've tried a couple of times, but it doesn't infuse nearly as well and just tastes like fvcked up water.

I don't use tea bags.

I get tea leaves, put it onto a pot, boil with water,a nd pour the whole thing into a strainer type device.Every time I drink, I press the strainer, and all the tea leaves get pushed to the bottom, leaving relatively clean tea at the top.

Learned that from Japan. Tea is nice and strong too.

If you drink that much tea, use a pot (or a bigger pot).

For me, it's not a matter of a single bag not being able to make more than one cup of tea, it's that once it's 'used' the tea tastes different the next time.

I mean, if it's fine for you, it obviously doesn't matter to me.:p

Depends on the quality of the tea... If you're an American, you've probably only had crappy tea, which is terrible the first time anyway. If you're drinking REAL tea, that is to say tea leaves and not a tasteless americanized powder, then of course you can use tea leaves more than once.

My roommate and I just started on our 3rd or 4th presspot of tea using the same leaves. But it's also a very high quality Ginseng Oolong.

This all kind of assumes you're not using mesh bags of your own. But since you asked the question, I'll assume no.

You might be able to reuse an Earl Gray bag or something like that, but I still wouldn't do it. I'm spoiled I guess!

I don't reuse. If you are reusing, just get a bigger cup and use more water the first time.

For some darker oolong teas, the second brew can taste better than the first batch. The first time, a bunch of acids come out, the second time you get a much smoother taste.

I always use 2 bags per cup... I like to drink tea, not tea-flavored water.

I use it one time, but I don't remove it after 3-5 minutes like the directions say.

I like mine strong also. But I still use one bag...one of the family sized bags. ;)
