I bought an Asus A7N8X Deluxe back in late 2002 along with an Athlon 2100+ Palomino. The CPU was very cheap at the time and as I saw through nVidias BS and got an ATI 9700pro (which still works beautifully in f.e. FarCry on highest settings (1024*768)) I was short on cash. Due to that I choose to hold off getting the Throughbreds at the time. I got PC2700 memory to be able to accomodate a faster fsb.
6 months or so ago I purchased a 2800+ Barton when it had fallen to the same pricepoint as my earlier cpu. The speed difference was substantial, and I'm still very happy with my system overall. I've also fitted a couple of S-ATA Seagates and an Antec 430W.
