they keep advertising themselves as "world famous", but im thinking the only ppl that know of them mostly live in NY Metro area (NY/NJ/CT).

if you're not from these areas, have you ever heard of them?

It used to be 103.5...but that's KTU now. Only hear of Z100 'cause it's in the NYC area.

and yes i live in nyc, and i've heard of z100...bleh i never listen to it.

:| Worst Radio station ever... second is 92.3 K rock... thirdly the "New" 103.5 (theyve been on for 12 years now... hows that new?

Radio in NY sucks.. my advice listen to college radio, even better classical. (No sarcasm guys, I found out Classical is much better than the mainstream radiostation)

Live in Northeast NJ here.

Z100 = Another channel owned by Clearchannel

Z100 = Sucks! All the same sh!t over and over again.

I miss Opie and Anthony. I'm going to be picking up a new stereo for my car and a Sirius Satellite tuner as well. There should be much better music on there ( and O&A may be returning and coming on there in June ).

The radio in the mid/south east is much better!

hmmm ... not the z100 you are talking about ... however on IBM 4680 and 4690 series cash registers when you Address the registers, they say Z001, you punch in a 4 digit terminal number, hit S2 (on 4860 series) or ctl S2 (on 4690 series) .. and then the register display reads Z100. Ohh how I hate Point Of Sale hardware.

I'm from NY so I know z100, and let me tell you, basically every other pop/rock station in the metro area is better than that garbage. They used to play half-decent music, now it seems they play all the hiphop crap MTV airs.

what he said. z100 hasn't played anything worth listening to since the 80s

Never heard of that station. As has been mentioned I am sure they only play the same crap all the other radio stations are playing at any given time while it's deemed still popular.
