Yup, 24/7 for well over a year now 33% OC for me. I could probably get some more out of it, but its running stable and cool so I'll probably upgrade and OC again to get the best bang for my buck. Still pretty happy with the way my system runs. Some newer games will eventually force the issue, like maybe Unreal 2?!!!

To me, overclocking is a moral obligation J/K I do it in full knowledge of my actions and assume full responsibilty for potentially undesireable consequences. Besides it's more fun than a barrel o' monkeys

had a 486sx25, didn't know anything about overclocking just knew dos and windows 3.1.
went to a pentium 75mhz, again nothing
then to a whopping pentium 133! .. (i can play starcraft now excitement), no overclock though
then k6-2 500mhz, had it overclocked to 550. 600 was impossible.
then i went to a duron 750, had that puppy overclocked to 933 (or 133 * 7.5)
Then i got a duron 800 (took back 1.4ghz athlon, and got a 800mhz duron for temp replacement), no luck overclocking this one
I now have a 1.4ghz athlon XP and i don't see any point in overclocking it at all.

, i like my computer... case temp 19C, cpu on FULL load 40C (running seti 24/7) still has yet to crash. been stable for months and months!

I do. Paid $270 for a 650e nearly 2 years ago. I've been running it at 866 since day one (well day four actually). Had I bought an 866 it would have been $750 so I've been quite happy.

after i burned in my xp machine, i was in a big hurry to overclock it. overclocking the cpu made very little difference, and it was about a 200mhz oc. now my video card is oced very little and that is 24/7. i can see the difference in this when playing games when it is overclocked heavily, but normally i leave it around the stock speeds. like others have stated, i am going for the quiet approach. a couple months with that loud ass delta and i just had to change. i am very pleased with my comp at stock speed, so i see no need to overclock it...for now anyway...

How about underclock your cpu? On my TB 1.2 I run it at 1.1. I couldn't get to 1.4 on pretty stock hsf, and 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 was pretty even so I went with the coolest/quietest.

I overclock for a while. run some benchmarks and then go back to stock speeds. I don't see too much of a performance difference.

I do a light overclock on everything I can. (CPU, video card, RAM...) Not sure why, prolly just cause I can. When I take things down to the stock speeds now, I just feel like something's...off.

CPU is a 1.4@1.53 (145mhz FSB), RAM is at fastest possible timings, GF2 Pro @ 230/450

I used to overclock...

But when I fried my first CPU (a Cyrix) I stopped OCing.

Now the only thing I overclock is my DVD-Player, when the movie is boring switch on the 32x mode

I overclock, but not to the point of absurdity. I have my XP 1700+ at a mild 75MHz overclock (1540), or just slightly above stock 1800+ levels. I have my GF3ti200 overclocked quite a bit, but still far from what it can do. I have tested it, and it's pretty stable at 230/530 (31-32% OC), but I keep it at 215/490, just so I don't have to worry about heat buildup and shortened life. Even so, it's still a 22% overclock on both core and memory. Nets me between 8-15 fps in games for free. Not bad!

I've overclocked chips before the Celeron 300A but all to mild degrees. It was the Celeron 300A that really got me going, but I realized with the overclocking that I spent more time and money on tweaking it and making sure it was stable than using the computer.

I'm so busy with school now I don't bother with overclocking anymore because the computer is fast enough as it is, and I figured I'm really not going to notice a 10 fps increase or a 2/10th of a second increase in a Photoshop filter. I'd rather have a stable machine that I don't ever have to worry about (in terms of temp, stability, etc) than one that I'm always tinkering around with, always trying to get it 1 deg C cooler. I guess one of these days I'll probably play with the Intel Northwood chips (and overclock the hell out of them! ) but that won't be until school gets out.
