POLL: How many of you guys keep your computer sound on mute?

i do this to all the computers im working with. i guess i get startled really easily, and sometimes i hate stupid music.

lol, I always judge the quality of sound cards and spekers by how soon I get threats of eviction after installing them 😀

I dont turn my speakers on at home until I start up a game or winamp...

At work, I didnt even plug up my speakers until 2 weeks ago (been working here for 10 months)... and I keep them turned off...

I went through that "phase" i.e. whereby i had a sound for EVERY stupid action

Thankfully, i grew out of that.

I still have a "new e-mail" sound, but that is IT

Unless I'm on the phone or watching a movie, I have music playing whenever I'm on my PC.

Mine are mostly off. Only time there on is when I feel like playing music really loud without killing my ears with headphones.

You know what's really annoying? My roommate and his winamp. He freaking plays music constantly. There is never a silent moment to think or do work or anything in my room. I usually have to leave and go to a library or something. And on top of that, he leaves the stuff playing when he goes out. I am sitting there like, 'he's gone.. why is the music on' then I go turn it off myself.

That's probably what my downstair neighbors think of me, I have Winamp playing constantly and having Z-560's doesn't help either. I'm sure they LOVED a week without music when I was upgrading my computer...
