first one I built was an AMD K6-2 450. Then I went through a few overpriced intel configurations to arrive at my current state, an AMD T-bird.

Wow! 12 years??? Let's see...I think at the age of 14 I was still riding my skateboard and hangin out at the beach surfin! Then I would go home to my 386 pc!

I definitely build my own pc's. Much better and you can pick and choose your own parts. Plus I am always learning something new.

I love to spend money but hate to throw it away, that is why I build all of my own systems.

Thinking of building another just because prices are so low!!!

Forum member Maetryx did most of the work building mine, and I assisted. I think I could manage building my own now, with only a few late-night phone calls along the lines of, "There are flames shooting out of the CD-ROM drive, is it supposed to be doing that?" 😀 Forgot to mention, it is an AMD rig.

Built most of my student association's machine in my town, all intel...
Built several intel machines for my own... and only 1 AMD tbird.. and i'm giving it away to my sister 😛

Edit: I remember now... machine built history - amdK6-2 333, celeron 300@450, intel 550@733, intel 800@900
Now i'm using a stupid dell 1.5 ghz... still want to go back to building my own p4 rig... sometime soon 😀

I always build all my own rigs, it is the only way to go. I also build custom setups for people and some business'

I build a lot of computers, both for myself and for my school. It's something about that feeling you get knowing that the computer sitting in front of you is something you designed, configured, and built with your own hands.
