Just checking.

I got an unusual amount of DIMMs in the mail this week and thought that maybe the majority had lost touch with reality.

Of course, only half of those DIMMs I received were broken in half, but still...

It sucks when the last part of a conversation starts with, "Well sir, common sense would dictate...."

I know this one jonny - I remember reading an amusing rant of yours about it a couple of months back.

To be honest, I would have known anyway, but that rant just drilled it into me :)

apparently its highly tempting to send Mem in the perfectly fitted enveloped. Heck, I am getting a refund on this sucker anyway, why should I care more about the packaging.

I'm hoping thats how egghead sends me all my ram....hehe

Edit: Actually a few weeks ago I got a stick of ram in I bought from an individual and it came in an priority mail envelope....at least it had some bubble wrap around it I guess....

I usually just slap a stamp on the memory stick itself, who needs envelopes? :p

i would ship memory in envelopes.

one healthy antistatic bag. several well placed pieces of fiberglass (.25 or thicker) in a bubble wrapped interior envelope then placed inside a fedex box, and sent ups.

Mday: That works for me! :D

Fact is MOST RAM arrives in tact... but not ALL. Boxes are free and the "added weight" is next to nothing, so why bother using an envelope?

dirtboy: I wonder.... hmm..... Just to see what happens. You know. :p

Most of it gets turned around at the door before I even see it, but if it gets as far as me, I'll open it and check it out and if it's screwed I call the customer.

Sometimes it's an envelope I can jimmy open and reseal if the contents are damaged. Then I can just refuse it and don't have to pay to ship it back to the customer.
