Thought I used 8+2 thumbs, but it seems I am not ever using the left thumb, so 8finger 1thumb/9 total.

All 10.

It's the most efficient way, and else I wouldn't be able to type more than 300 characters per minute like I do now ;)

I have no Idea. its hard to count and type... I do use my thumb for the space bar though. (maybe 5-8 fingers)

All of them. I've played the piano since I was five, and I took typing in the 8th grade, a long time ago, when computers were rooms full of vacuum tubes and programmed with patch cords (really). :)

most of the time - about 6. I use up to 9, my left thumb almost never gets used, my right thumb always beats it to the spacebar.

well....
for shprt little things i use about 2-5, but the more and more i type the more figners get involve and i end up working around to all of them.

never learned how to 'type'....so i just hit the key i want with whatever is close to it as my hands float over the keyboard(sometimes they overlap a little).

the main downside is that i have to look at the keyboard as i type, but i usualy find all the typos as i make themand can edit on the fly with out looking(spelling errors is another story).
