I don't know if this is appropriate or not, so hopefully it is. The questions asks how fast have you personally driven when behind the wheel on a public road. Not something locked off or a runway, or anything like that.

got my first ticket ever doing a good 150, ticket was for 145+ in a 55
numbers stopped at 140 but needle was way past that. cop got upto 145 and i was losing him.

also did 160 on a motorcycle once

120+ in my old 52 Chevy. Drank the Gas, but that 350 was really good all around, solid take off, and nice top end. the speed odometer stopped at 120, and I had it pegged there before.

A County Mounty of aquaintaince paced me in his 1970 Hemi Cuda 'cause he did not believe my Mercur Xr4ti would go that fast! His speedo was verified as correct because I drove his Hemi Cuda to 160+ as he paced ME in his...well, ley's just say I've freinds in fast places.

That's 160 plus for me....

I've been to midnight drag races where 200+ was common....

109mph on a 1978 Yamaha 750 (won't ever go that fast again on a bike...that was scary!)

Back when I was a wee lad, when I go home late at night and the freeways were always empty I would always see how fast I could go. I always made sure I hit 100, but the fastest was probably aroudn 115mph. I would get too scared to go past that.

142MPH in my uncles old 300ZX TT.

Driving that fast is scary, but interesting. I've never come close to that number since.
