Me here only 13k, real pathetic but what can you do if you gotta pay more for faster upload. I'm with SBC 1.5mbit/128k standard+ plan 29.95 a month.
deluxe package is 39.95 a month 1.5mbit/256k, same download speed not very encouraging.
Within 2-3 months which SBC has made an announcement that they will upgrade all standard, standard plus to 256k upload, and deluxe user to 384K upload. Most of the expert package user will already be upgraded within a month, 99 a month 6mbit/384k, their upload will increased to 512k wow! big deal 🙁
This is to compete with Cable but they are so slow to make the changes, their upgrading profile for all user will not be official until 2nd quarter of 2004 as they say. hmm just alot of talks who knows so they might revert back, LMAO as this is too good to be true. ^_^ ooh. me drool, not. If i am serious about having good upload, I will have to switch to cyberonic with 1.5mbit/768k but I am on a contract w/SBC for at least another year 🙁
Sucks being married to such a ripoff provider just to get discount, free modem, free activation.

BTW, DSL have upload potential of 1mbit, cable 5mbit.
maximum download speed for cable is 30mbit, for DSL 8mbit.

Right now it's «1095 kbps but when the dorms are emptier I've seen upwards of 4000+. I can run a server but no one off campus can get to it.

I'm supposed to get 90kbit up with my Earthlink plan but for like a year and a half I've been getting 380kbit up (48KB/s).

If you want upload speeds greater than 768kbps then you're probably running a server of some sort, right? Why not just, iono, actually get a server/commerical plan of some kind? They're made specifically for that kind of thing. Besides, it's usually against your TOS to run servers on residential packages.

Or maybe you just like being able to upload giant files to your web server or something quickly? Well, whatever.

1MB/s to other people on campus.. 90KB/s over aim, 90KB/s over irc, 40KB/s over ftp.. >1KB/s over most file sharing apps.. 🙁
