Pocket. I started a thread like this, I asked who kept their cell phones on their waist using a holster. Majority of everyone here said they kept it in their pockets.

Left pocket. I have a nextel with the clip, and actually clip it onto my pocket, while te phone is inside of my pocket (so it doesn't fall in). I keep my wallet in that pocket also. Keys in my right pocket. When I take my iPod with me, iPod gets the right pocket, and my keys join the left pocket.

I mostly wear painters pants, so I put it in the small pockets on my right leg... otherwise it goes in my left pocket in pants, jacket pocket or hoodie pocket.

In my right pants pocket. Always. From the minute I get up to the minute I go to sleep. Ever since it was right there when our neighbor's little boy came running outside yelling "help! our house is on fire" and I was able to instantly get a hold of 911, it will always be kept there. You never know when you will need it.
