3000 or so in the small town in Minnesota...

We have 2 wireless internet systems (2 different companies) plus mediacom cable + dsl coming shortly 🙂

(man I feel sorry for you people in small towns that don't have the same oppertunities as us...)

One meeeeellion people here in Dallas. I think there's around 3 million in the DFW metroplex though.

Edit: Amazing! What are the chances of 2 people from the same area posting at the same time on the same topic with the same general info!! BTW I lived in Arlington for 10 years before moving to Dallas, it's uncanny!!

I think Birmingham is somewhere around 250-300,000 in the city limits. The population in the city is actually shrinking rapidly due to suburban sprawl while other areas are still exploding. I think the metro area as a whole is right around 1 million.

Here in Arlington Country (smallest county in the US at 7.5 by 3 miles) we have a nighttime population of around 200,000 and a day population of 215,000. The area where I am, with about a 25-30 mile radius, is a bit over 5 million people. (DC Metro)

West Lafayette population is approximately 28, 778. Yet there are over 35,000 Purdue students who live here.😕

If anyone wants to know their area's Census 2000 population go here.

As for W. Lafayette, I suspect that's because students don't permanently live there. Almost all students there are still claimed as dependents of their parents and their home address is with their parents. My brother-in-law goes there but his parent's claim him as a dependent and far as I know his permanent address is at his parent's home.
Besides across the river in the city of Lafayette the population is 56,397.

Austin, Tx? According to thislinky for the 2000 census is 656,562.

But I think I've seen those signs too, don't remember will have to drive through Sunset Valley to see.

Actually if you are a full time student you are considered a resident of West Lafayette, IN. We had to fill out our own census papers and our parents could not count us.

Coral Springs, FL - 150,000 (Suburb of Ft. Lauderdale)
Gainesville, FL - 80,000 (50,000 are students 😀)
