up for the day crowd

any of you guys using a Dish 811 reciever? What kind of outputs does it have? Firewire, usb, etc?

I just got my SA8000hd dvr here on Houston TWC. 2 to be exact. Nothing beats 4 tuners worth of HD recording and two more replay tv's catching the SD. You could say I'm an addict.

But you can't archive Voom. Satellite HD service is going to be in trouble if they don't get on the stick
and let you record it.

I don't consider temporary PVR as recording. I mean permanent archiving like DVHS or the upcoming HD-DVD.

I get HBOHD, SHOHD, HDnet, HDnet movies, Bravo HD, Discovery HD, ESPN HD, NFL HD and HDPPV from DirecTV.

I get ABC, NBC and Fox HD OTA.

My local CBS station and PBS stations aren't broadcasting HD on their digital channels yet.

I have a Dish 811. It has DVI and component, but I'm only using component currently. I have an OTA antenna hooked up to receive local HDTV channels through it.

I also have a hdtv pc card in my computer, so I can record stuff on it. Not much to record currently, but once the fall tv season starts up it will be quite busy.

sheesh thats a lot of recording :Q

Are'nt you running into problems with the embedded flags?

OTA for me. Getting locals from Knoxville TN. The towers are about 45 miles away and I have a Winegard 4400 4 bay antenna in the attic. My TV is a 42" plasma that has the tuner and stuff built in. It also has this "CABLE CARD SLOT" built in what ever the hell that is.
