Pickups -- Toyota
SUVs -- Toyota
Sedans -- Toyota/Honda Tie
Sports/Sporty cars -- Nissan

pickups i'd have to give to toyota since they're the only ones with a truck that has even a passing semblance at being fullsize. nissan will take this one soon.

SUVs i'd also have to give to toyota, as nissan has only 2 true SUVs and honda doesn't have any, while toyota has 3. miscellaneous wagons would go to nissan, the FX is just too good.

sedans the LS430 is too much to overcome, due to the fact that its competition is either just as fugly (Q45) or outrageously underpowered (RL). G35>IS, I35>fugly ES, altima... lets say tied with the camry. the camry is a boat with an anemic engine in comparison. but the altima lags in quality. also, the I35 is gonna get discontinued 🙁 i give it to toyota.

sports cars no question the FM chassis is the best of these right now. the S2000's civic-like response at normal RPMs can't compare to the always on VQ35. while nissan doesn't have a true competitor to the SC430 they certainly have a car just as ugly in the G35 'vert. not quite so luxurious, probably more fun to drive.

Umm, the new '04 Camry SE has the new 3.3 liter V6 with 225 HP and oodles of low-end torque. It's no longer "anemic" 😀

Accord 3.0 liter SOHC V6
240 hp @ 6250 RPM
212 hp @ 5000 RPM

Camry 3.3 liter DOHC V6
225 hp @ 5,600 RPM
240 lb-ft @ 3,600 RPM

Altima 3.5 liter DOHC V6
245 hp @ 5,800 RPM
246 lb-ft @ 4,400 RPM

But, dayum, check out that Nissan!

this is a hard choice..all are great companies...but honda's are too bland looking for me...hehe but they're great reliable normal-joe cars...nissans are just damn too cool..and toyotas last 1000 years and are quality solid cars....

Might as well put in a good word for the TRD V6 supercharger. Bumps power up to ~280 and retains factory warranty.

Err ... what would compare to the Maxima? An Altima compared to an Accord is a no brainer - Accord wins easily.
The Maxima would compare very closely to the Accord. Furthermore, the stock Maxima PWNS the stock Accord. Not to say that you couldn't mod either of them.
the maxima will tear the accord a new one

Are you smoking crack? The Maxima has turned into a vehicle that has far strayed from it's 4-door-sports-car history, and has taken the luxo-boat mobile route. The maxima doesn't tear the accord a new one, if anythign, it just pokes at it.

if u think a v6 accord is faster than a v6 maxima, you are seriously mistaken

Nissan. Not cause Honda or Toyota suck (which they definately don't), but Nissan cars just speak to me more than Honda or Toyota.

Either way, you're getting a great choice by choosing from any of those three brands. You can argue numbers, specs, etc.. all day long, but that doesn' really matter when a car just feels right to you. Be it a Camry, Maxima, or Accord. If it meets your criteria (both numerical wise and feel wise) then go for it.

It's Nissan by the slightest of margins, then Honda, and Toyota slowly gaining ground.

Has Skoorb made an appearance yet?

Honda. My old civic got 40mpg and just wouldn't die 🙁 At least until it failed inspection.
why did it fail inspection?
If it had a lot of miles on it, then probably for hydrocarbons caused by oil consumption. Every old Honda I've ever seen die has died blowin' the blue.
LOL... blowin' the blue.. I like that. 😉

But that's the best way for an engine to die, really. You know it most likely had a very long, satisfying life.

The rings should be the first thing to go. Besides neglecting regular maintenance, blowin' the blue usually means a pretty solid engine when new.

if insurance wrecks my car, I'm probably gonna get another 1zz based car. Either an 00+ celica or an 00+ corolla/prizm.

Haven't owned anything not made by Nissan so I guess the answer for me is obvious....TOYOTA!

j/k - Nissan 4eva
