I'm looking to buy a digital camera in the next 2 weeks or so, at first I was going to get the Olympus D-510Z, good picture quality, compact size, decent zoom, etc. An added plus was that it used SmartMedia, and I have a Toshiba laptop with a SM drive built in, making file transfers pretty easy.
Then I started reading about the Nikon Coolpix 775, the thing is tiny! Basically the same stats as the Olympus camera, but it uses CompactFlash. I can hook it up to my computer through USB so file transfers are not quite as easy. The one thing going for it is it's small size, plus it is a Nikon, which in my mind makes higher quality cameras, but I could be mistaken.
In terms of price, the Olmypus is slightly cheaper, I could probably get one for around $350 or so, the Nikon goes for around $400. The only thing is that the Nikon hasnt been released yet, it is scheduled to be released at the beginning of July.
Vote in the poll! Any help is appreciated!
