are you wearing a hawaiian shirt today?

you didn't get the memo?

Nah, didn't get the memo, but coincidentally, I DID wear a Hawaiian shirt today...no, not a colorful "aloha shirt", but a polo shirt that has the logo of the timeshare where we own...that counts...sort of...

For years, many of us in construction used to wear aloha shirts on Fridays, in part, to make fun of "casual friday" as practiced in offices, since what we wore on a daily basis was far more casual than they were allowed to wear, even on their casual days...
Then, it happened that for a couple of jobs in a row, I'd drag up (quit) on one of those "aloha shirt fridays", so they became known for me, as "drag-up shirts"...and many of the guys I worked with knew, that if I showed up in an aloha shirt, I was quitting that day...(aloha means both hello and good-bye)
Ever since then, I quit wearing them for "aloha shirt friday"...
