Poll: Have you heard of the MMORPG, Horizons?

It seems that no one has heard of it. I didn't even hear about it until recently, and it came out in early December. I was actually following it in the summer of 2000. Forums, chat room, everything. One time I got banned from the chat for bitching at a developer and I emailed the Artifact pres or whatever he called himself (I think his name was David?) and he made them unban me 😀. Good times.

Was reading the forums during the beta period, once it was released it didn't get rave reviews the way I thought it would, still haven't ever played it. Supposed to be fun if you like crafting items.

Like most MMOs, the game is what you make it.
 
i'll download the free demo and try it.. cuz i've played.. just about every major mmorpg out there.. to many to list.
 
David Allen is no longer with Artifact Entertainment. He quit (or was fired?) in like 2001. Horizons was supposed to be a truely spectacular MMORPG, but it was too complex and would have taken too long to develop. Coupled with AE running out of money a few times, the game had to be changed drastically. Its no longer the same game that was displayed on their website back in 1999/2000. I still have those old screenshots, and they still look really good compared to the new Horizons which is released now.
I was in the beta, and it wasn't all that fun. No PvP, no dungeons, no real loot and a serious lack of content made the game boring.

lol 😛 im downloading right now. not that im expecting anything great, but a new game is a new game
 
My fiancee was a beta-tester. She liked it, said it was following the path of Star Wars: Galaxies, though. Lots of promise, but pushed out before it was ready.
