I'm going for it.

Games have consumed far too much of my time. Therefore, I must quit for my own sake and for the sake of others.

Edit - Computer/video games here. I've never been a gambler.

No, with one exception. I did manage to break, after a long multi-year (honest) struggle, my addiction to Ultima Online and since 1999 have broken the habit. I've also decided never to play a massive multiplayer online rpg ever again and I know in my heart that I never will. It's a drug I can't handle.
 
I tried once. Went without games and TV for about 6 months. Keyword tried. 🙂

Edit : Well, I still play but much less.

I have. I do not have ONE game on my computer. The last game I really played a game was Myst III (note: this does not include going to LAN parties. afterward games are uninstalled. I don't need 4 gigs of games taking up valuable hard disk space)

I quit playing CS when all the cheaters found their way in. I have since played maybe 6 hours of video games in the past year and a half.
 
I never really got into it a lot. I might play one or two games a week. Not giving up my precious coffee, though. 😀
 
Gaming on line or in Casinos??

In Casinos I would just tell myself if I bought something for my computer I would have it for a while while gambling it would probably be gone.

Give up gaming on the 'puter?? Nah, I like killing people too much! 😀
 
OK, who pities me? 🙂

The only thing I'll really miss I guess will be the LAN parties with my friends - mind you, they always have enough spare parts to assemble a rig capable of some Q3A. 😀

I gave up CS for two months! But the guys suckered me back into it again. They are evil, evil I tell you!!

I haven't played any serious CS for months. :Q I still get those twinges of longing when I hear my roommate cackling with glee after AWPing some poor newbie in the head. 😛

I love CS. Nothing like running around, shooting a bunch of men in the nuts for a good time. 😀 Unfortunately, between work, and my social life, which has increased dramatically since I am single, oddly enough, I rarely have time to play now.

Let's see. CS, or men. CS or men......... hmmm.

Actually, I've been getting back into it since I tend to enjoy that alot more than just browsing the internet and messing with computer hardware (and it's alot cheaper).

Still playing UNREAL on line and why would I want to give it up? I control my playing, it doesnt control me.

I can see where it would be addictive for some though.
 
I played games like a madman in college but since I started working, I've had less and less spare time so now I hardly game at all. Thinking about buying a console, though.
