My uncle has been using AOL as a backup ISP for a few years now and still hasn't paid a dime because of that very reason. Utterly amazing.

Had AOL for a few years before cable internet came into my neighborhood. Switched to cable the day it was available in my neighborhood.

Very true.

I've had AOL for a long time, off and on. It was my first ISP, had it for a few years, then used the free internet ISPs for awhile coupled with BYOA AOL, eventually got cable, continued to use the BYOA service for free(they offered me 6 free months when I called to cancel, told them I "didnt know I could use AOL and cable at the same time 😉 ), ditched AOL then when that time ran out, didn't use it for some time, then got another 6 free months, cancelled after that, and now am on another free account. Their chat rooms are decent when there's nothing to do. I wouldn't PAY for it now, though.

In a way, yes.
But they can have a cable/dsl/t1 connection, while still using AOL's Bring Your Own Plan thingy, so they still currently have an AOL account.
Mostly this poll was to see how many people once had or never had AOL.
