Whoa. I voted yes, and now that I think about it - I've always woken up at the instant just before impact, and often find that I go "UGH" and my body moves as if attempting to absorb an impact from whatever offending object in my dream was going to kill me - the bottom of a swimming pool, a bullet, a sledgehammer.
Fortunately, my unconscious has no problem carrying other acts out to completion, if you know what I mean.

And there's the Urban Legend that if you die in your sleep, you'll die for real, because the body cannot live without the mind... but again, that's just a legend.
No, that wasn't an urban legend, that was The Matrix.
It was an urban legend LONG before The Matrix.
I concur

You know, I recall waking up a bunch of times with my body doing that weird attempt to absorb the impact of the fall. But I don't really remember too much exactly why I was falling any of those times, nor that that fall would have been fatal.
So I can't say I recall having died in a dream. Heh then there are those times when I've dream about falling and I wake up and I'm on the floor lol. Hasn't happened in years but i used to. Good thing they stopped by the time I had my bed lofted Freshman year of college haha or I might have broken my back on my chair falling down. Actually, I did fall once off of that bed but that wasn't in my sleep, just trying to get off and slipping. And oww did that hurt, particularly when my arm got caught in the bedframe...but let's not talk about that =p
So no, I guess I haven't died in my dreams although I guess I've had falls that could POTENTIALLY be fatal but since I can't actually REMEMBER the details about the fall I can't really say what was the likely outcome.

Yes, but I got better.

I have felt like I was going to die though. Now that is a strange feeling.
Well I had never really felt that until the day I totaled my Civic Si...in those few seconds when my car got sandwiched between a pickup(ouch) and another car, when the passenger airbag went off because there was no passenger(and thus no buckled seatbelt, which made the airbag on the passenger side easier to trip) and the whole front of my eyes suddenly became on big bright white cloud, I seriously wondered if I was dead or if this was the end. My own airbag hadn't gone off since I had my belt on and that raised the threshold for triggering the airbag, so I didn't even know why everything was white for a good few seconds. It was a pretty sunny day too so I guess it gave a very weird feeling.
Of course I got over it =p but yeah, it's a weird feeling when you think "I guess this is it huh." I don't even think I was scared since there's no time to be afraid when you think you're at the end that very instant. Just a sort of "hmm...I guess this is it" sorta feeling.
All in all I guess I'm not really all that afraid of dying at this point. I don't WANT to die, but there's nothing really scary about it. I mean, it's bound to happen at some point, and you can't avoid it forever, so not much point in getting all scared over it lol. Unless you've done some real bad stuff and believe in Hell. In which case you might be getting scared because of that =p

i took a psych class that got really in depth with dreaming. Turns out the Urban Legend that you die in real life if you die in your dream is just that, a legend, after we did some exercices that let you become conscious while in a dream state, everyone's favorite thing to do was blow themselves up, because the weird sensation your body tries to come up with to simulate self-explosion is so intense. Another cool thing to do once your conscious within a dream is to fly, my first time i flew all over the damn place, then of course, once i got bored, blew my self up![]()
