Poll: Has your 72x died?

The reason I am asking is that I am on my third one and would like to take a poll to see how many people are in the same boat. I really appreciate your time and I will present the info to Kenwood and see what they think.

Yup, 3 days out of warranty. I replaced it with a Creative 52x that cost me 1/3 of the kenwood and is almost as fast.

Kenwood stopped making them for a reason: they were buggy.

What good would it do to send them a letter" Well me and 5 anand techers have failed drives, your 72xs were faulty"

They obviously know it is a faulty product.

Man this stinks. I do not want to spend more money. Already I could have purchased 3 drives for the original cost and all the postal fees. Thanks for the inputs. I am currently haggling with the RMA Dept at Kenwood. They want a reciept which I sent with my original dead 72x. I may have to contact "The Dog" at Maximum PC😎

<< Well Tuna, It may not help much but I believe they need to hear from thier customers on this issue. :disgust: >>

I am sure they count their RMAs 🙂

oops, i responeded wrong. I am on my second 72x. First one pooped out. I agree, great for pressed CD's poor for burnt CD's.

Will replace it someday when I get a cloneCD setup.

Mine still works fine, but recently it's DAE seems to have dropped...I only seem to be able to copy at 11x (forced to copy at 8x)...WAS able to do 12x + fine when I first got it.
