Poll: Has Express killed Structure?

I used to do pretty much all of my clothing shopping at Structure. Starting about 2 or 3 years ago, Express slowly started sliding influence into the clothes...and it became worse and worse...I stopped shopping there completely a a year and a half ago, and now it is full-blown Express Men, I won't even go in, it disgusts me. They've turned it from great into a store full of clothes I can't see a straight man wearing. Anyone with me?

I'll have to agree. Some of the early Express Men clothes are good (jeans, button-down shirts) but they've gotten more and more stiffer in the past year and now they're all full of ironed-down, preppie "gay bar" wear. (No offense to gay men, as they're all snappy dressers, but Express Men is definitely NOT the look most straight guys look for)

I'll have to start buying from Old Navy or Gap now. Ughh.

Styles change. You are behind the times. Keep up if you wish. Or join the rest of us who realize that spending 3-10 times as much just to have a logo on our clothes is unimportant and we find comfortable, good looking clothes in stores far less preppy than Structure, Gap, etc.

I think so. I hardly shop there anymore.. usually go to American Eagle, Aeropostale, Gap/Old Navy, Urban or Anchor Blue nowadays.

I used to buy a bunch of clothes there... but now I only go in there if the gap and old navy fail. Even then, I can pretty much only stomach getting a polo shirt... anything else is, well, Jero.

I thought Express owned Structure, or at least both were owned by the same company.
They do. The plan was to change name from Structure to Express for Men. In the near future, they'll start making Express stores that merge both EfM and EfW together sort of like AE, GAP, A&F, etc. They're trying to save on real estate costs to be more competitive. It was a good plan, but it's going to backfire unless they change their name to something that doesn't encourage us to lisp.

They do, but Structure used to be kinda a separate entity...then they started labeling some Structure clothes Express Men...now the whole store is Express Men.

Most of my structure clothes do not have a logo on them. I buy them because they look better than other clothes, IMO. I've yet to find a cheap clothing store that has clothes as good.

HEHE... You are correct... I pitty the foo that created this thread...

I pity the foo that doesn't read and see that I clearly know that.

How strange, I was thinking the exact same thing this morning. I used to get some pretty good deals on Structure clothing, and I got an Express shirt for X-Mas last year. I can't see myself wearing that Express shirt tho'.

I believe it has. I too was like you - Structure was almost the only thing I wore. It was more AE/AF'ish before it became Express. Then it became this chic-Queer Eye store. The only thing I get at that store now are their jeans, which with the coupons they always send me, end up being cheaper than the jeans at Old Navy.

And both companies are under The Limited umbrella - Express was spunoff in 1980, Structure in 1987 (iirc), and given the uniform Express name in 2000/2001.

Or you could be like me, have the gf do the shopping for you. It's two birds with one stone, she gets to go shopping, and you get new clothes, and you don't even have to leave the house. She's much better at knowing what looks good on me anyway.
