Google this google that. Search engine with a stupid name. Who cares? They arent any better than yahoo. So I ask WTF?
 
Well, to be honest I became a great Google fan years ago when my page could be found on Google and not Yahoo. So I do give a damm!
 
right now google is better than everything else, especially after they acquired dejanews and we have usenet to search from...
 
Yahoo is for 12 year olds. If you don't like google, it's only because you suck at it.

yahoo isnt technically a search engine. it's a directory listing that's searchable, and the amount they charge businesses for listing is stupid. $300 for a year in a position that no one will find you.
 
Yahoo is no longer just a directory listing. They too use web crawlers or spiders but still maintain a directory.

Google has a directory listing as well but I agree with saxguy in that the usenet archives put Google over the top as the best search service available.
 
Google is better than Yahoo... I'm loyal to Yahoo because I use their companion bar, calendar, briefcase, email, and bookmarks... but I notice their search is not up to par with Google.

Still, I think the latter is too hyped up. It's a search engine... do you guys really need to search THAT much ?

Google search is on my toolbar.
Google news is the best global news service, IMO.
Google image search is great.
Google also works as a calculator and a metric-imperial coverter.

Not only is Google better, but Yahoo looks like what would happen if you let a blind person design a website.

Yahoo has annoying flash ads. Google has text ads that are easy to ignore.

I think the choice is obvious here.
