Poll: good locations for a conversation?

Why do some people seem to have a switch labeled "mouth" on one side and "brain" on the other (ie- not both at once)? I actually had to ask three women to move this morning so I could get a cup of coffee. They were so busy yacking that they didn't seem to notice the three annoyed-looking people holding empty coffee mugs staring at them.

LMAO. Great thread, Fausto. :)

Where's the option for "anywhere that's in Fausto's way because I'm not actually a considerate person?" :)

LOL...put a health and safety notice focusing on not standing the way of a device dispensing hot drinks.

I've got 4 women who are always blocking the narrow hallway to my cubicle. Very annoying.

I think I should suggest they take it to the B&N Cafe.

This is a total pet peeve of mine as it happens constantly. CDCers seem to pick the worst places to run their mouths and then don't get out of the way when they cause a traffic jam. Most of the hallways here are only about 6-8 feet wide so just a few people blabbering is enought to screw everything up. I'll usually "accidentally" bump into the outermost person just to prove a point. :D

"In the middle of a narrow hallway?"

Hey, we have 10 huge conference rooms, as well as several smaller offices all over the place, but the #1 place to hold a meeting? "In the middle of a narrow hallway?"

Always, people standing in the hallway gathered around one persons cube.

That vein in my forehead starts burning everytime have to make people get out of my way.

Anyone standing in front of the coffee maker who is not getting coffee is in mortal danger at my workplace.

People who do that really tick me off. Yesterday these two morons were standing right in front of the door to a building, just talking, like there weren't a dozen people trying to go inside.

Another fave of mine: people who try to get on the elevator BEFORE people in the elevator get off. Back the fsck up, let me get out (and make space for your sorry ass in the process) and THEN you can get in. It won't leave without you, I promise. Your fat butt should be taking the stairs anyway. :frown:

This is akin to those dickweeds who park their shopping card right in the middle of the aisle. If I see it I make noise as I approach so they'll see me but in many cases I have to move it to the side. In a few others I've ended up semi-ramming their cart because I thought I could make it. No apology is made by me of course. Their cart should not be there.

I have found typical "office" women to be some of the dumbest people. I am not talking about women who are engineers or whatever, just the ones that are there for administrative type things.

I got moved from a cubicle to a bench in the lab. Now instead of people having conversations right outside my door, people have full on conventions with demonstrations and all that right INSIDE my area.

I have one that really annoys me. I have noticed a growing trend where I live where people will block the lanes of a parking lot, because they have to stop their car and talk to someone they know that was walking by. Now they even do it in the damn road! I was on a two-way street, idiot in front of me stops to talk to someone on a bicycle, and with traffic coming the other way, I cannot go around. Finally he gets done with his conversation, but only just as traffic from the other direction finishes, so I could finally go around if I wanted to.

Turns out there was a cop behind me though, and he pulled the jackass over and gave him a ticket. :D

I was only slightly more subtle than that.

Women: Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Me: /glaring at them.

Me: Excuse me, but are you going to get some coffee?

Women: No, go right ahead.

Me: I would, but you're standing directly in front of the coffee maker. Think you could maybe move so I and the other people standing here with empty cups could fill them?

Women: Oh! Sorry! We didn't notice you standing there.

Me: <dripping sarcasm> Yes, I noticed that. /gets coffee

This is what happens when you allow them to leave the house. First women drivers and now this.
