I wouldn't waste my time with a guy that refused to learn how to cook.

Hey I spawned a thread! Sounds a little uncomfortable :D

I love a guy who cooks. It doesn't have to be gourmet cooking, it can be something simple. Biscuits and gravy, bacon and eggs. Even roasting a chicken dinner leaves me impressed.

It just shows a caring trait, that he wants to take care of me once in awhile, instead of always waiting for me to cook.

The secret of impressing women with something is to not to try to impress them. Sounds like an oxymoron, but if you just go about cooking something that you might like, she will appreciate it even if you muck it up. Of course be prepared to do take out if that happens :D

Outdoor grilling is a skill every male should know anyhow.
Worth learning, because there is nothing better than grilled meat (at least for non-vegetarians)

Most simple cooking boils down to (yeah yeah I made a funnay right there):
* Following recipes accurately
* Timing the preparations...as in:

Getting a rough idea what takes longer to cook, and what cooks very quickly.
That way, everything is ready (and still hot) at roughly the same time.

All married--or about to be married--men (take it from me) need to know how to make a killer breakfast, if for nothing else than occasions like: Mother's Day, birthday, anniversary, etc.

IMHO, most guys who refuse to even think about cooking at all are chauvinist asses.

Twilight Zone!!!

My man's got to know how to cook; and he must in fact like cooking. And I won't entertain the idea of eating out, except on occasion. So, if you're listening out there, here I come. Cooking is a must. No ifs and buts.

A guy who cooks is excellent. A guy who you can cook with and turn the cooking into fun communal effort is even better. Cooking is a bonding experience. :)
