I for one will have to say nothing is more satisfying that beating someone mano a mano in a first-person shooter.

MMORPG PVP; nothing like being a bounty hunter looking for your Jedi target; tracking the Jedi down using your ranger tracking skills on the forest moon of Endor.

Hasn't anyone ever completely battered their mate on Street Fighter 2? Taunting them face to face until it descends into a proper scrap? Even better if it's a game they love and you beat them with pure, unadulterated button bashing!

I LOVE playing heads-up in a FPS. I use to be pretty good at Quake 1, 2 and 3. I even placed in the top 5% in a nation wide tourney in Q2 (PGL, if anyone remembers that). There were over 1000 people participating and I was even on a modem, lol. I pretty much suck now, but I'm down if anyone wants to challenge me. :)

All you have to do in Street Fighter 2 is jump+ roundhouse, duck + roundhouse, jump+roundhouse... :Q

Any ownage is good, come on now :)

I put RTS actually. I fought tooth and nail for a 50% win rate @ 500 (mostly 1v1) games in wc3. So basically, the wins were well earned :p

FPS is great, but less satisfying in the short term because the enemy is back at it the next round. In rts your victory, or defeat, against any particular opponent is more...final. Long term fps wins hands down. I love being in practice with twitch skills blazing in pretty much any fps :D

My all time favorite fps have to be Q1, CoD and CS. About the only rts I put enough time into playing against others to get beyond poor in was wc3.

Killing people in WoW was...alright. The actual act of putting them down was fun but they just come right back. That's wrong on so many levels in a MMO. Now UO, there's a fun pvp experience. One of the best adrenaline rushes I've had while gaming.

As a PC owner, RTS owning is fun. When working with equally balanced or identical sides, its like watching 2 matched boxers duelling it out.... both trading heavy blows with each other and its difficult to say for certain who will win. That is decided on the field of battle.

When round at my mates, games like sports sims (FIFA, PES) and fighting games are great. Racing sims are quite good in MP too. Since I play on a console for maybe 1 hour every 1-2 months, I usually get owned completely.

Still play ut2004 - you can pick it up and get into it pretty fast but to get good requires real talent and lots effort. Much more rewarding in the long term then games like bf2.

MMORPG, for the infinite variety of scenarios, e.g. 2 level 55s surviving a swarm of level 50s, pwning someone higher level than you 1 on 1, we had their Auction House on lock down for an hour, etc.

Every scuffle is different.

I had to vote other, becuase ownage in all of them is great...as long as you are in the same room with the conquest!

Pure online stuff just doesn't have the effect. For example:

1. Kill
2. Stand up
3. Stare them down across the room.
4. Yell "IN YOUR FACE BEEEEEEAAAAAAATCH!!!!!!!!!"
5. Hope they don't get you in the next round! :D

IMing, or talking into a microphone just isn't the same.

It's when you need your ass to look professional, and freshly starched, crisp khakis just aren't good enough. Laminating your ass might just be the professional look that makes you stand out and gets the promotion.

You can check it out here. Basically there is a mini race going on in SetiClassic and it is our little mantra at the moment.(link shows it started there around 1999 or so) Can't be too serious after all!
