Other than the built in rechargable battery and light, what makes the SP better than a regular Gameboy advanced with an afterburner and maybe an aftermarket battery?

Those are the two main draws to it. I like the fact that it's smaller and the flip-up screen. When it's not in use, just close it up and the screen won't get scratched.

It's a lot smaller and more portable. Just fold it up and stick it in your pocket. Plus it's much thexier.

Not sure I can ask it more clear. Umm....What makes a Gameboy SP better than a regular Advanced with some minor aftermarket mods?

That's where the afterburner comes in. So i guess it's just a different design with the added light. What does piss me off about it is they require you to get an aftermarket cord to just plug in headphones.

The install for the afterburner leaves many instances for mistakes. Lots of potential for a ruined gameboy, or even a ruined afterburner kit. If you buy an SP, you can be assured that it's going to work the first time and that there's no dust on the inside of your screen. Although, I'm also irritated about the headphone adapter not coming with the SP...ridiculous

I agree on the headphone thing, how hard is it to integrate a 1/8 inch jack.

The SP is just what the original should have been, its more portable and when you include the price of the aftermarket kits for a regular, the sp isn't that much more expensive.

Mind you im not talking about a regular bought second hand or anything.

I really like my SP, its great at the office ;)
